Stylish Safaris

An adventure beckons in the wilderness and magnificent wildlife of Southern Africa. Safari is a memorable and a truly life changing experience no matter one’s age. A safari makes for an unforgettable family holiday, with exhilarating activities for the entire family to enjoy, memories made together that will last a lifetime, and opportunities to learn and grow together. These words echo true for Andres who firmly believes that various Safaris have brought him and his family closer. The beauty of the natural world is also one of the most romantic experiences a couple can have together. These are just a few of the joys a safari san bring to the soul. A private Game Reserve is a more exclusive experience to staying in a National Park. For more information visit our blog. South Africa is blessed with various Safari regions and each is as different as the next. The Sabi Sands Game Reserve is popular amongst those looking for a Safari experience or those looking for luxurious accommodation opputunities and is situated next to the world famous Kruger National park. The two are not bordered and the animals roam freely. This experience is found nowhere else on earth and “Big Five” sightings areencounters that you will never forget. The Sabi Sands is also very popular for Leopard sightings. The game drives allow for endless photographic opportunities and these experiences are what dream Safaris are made of.

The land where Madikwe now stands was previously used as farming land. The poor soil meant that farming was mostly unsuccessful and the South African government then decided that it would best be used as a game reserve to help economically uplift the disadvantaged area. Madikwe’s popularity is growing internationally as it is a malaria free zone and home to Wild dog which is not easily found in South Africa. Madikwe is home to some magnificent lodges and as it is not as popular as the Sabi Sands, some more cost effective options can be found here. The Waterberg is a more mountainous area also situated closely to Johannesburg in the Malaria free Limpopo area. Both regions are stunning in their own right and offer a different terrain and type of Safari, however Big Five sightings are possible at both. Madikwe and the Waterberg are suggested for those looking for a more accessible Safari option as they are in close proximity to Johannesburg and are accessible by road. We encourage you to discover these areas and see for yourself why we consider them some of Triumph’s favorites.

The name Kalahari has been inhabited by the Bushman for 20 000 years as hunter-gatherers. Due to its harsh environment the area has remained a true wilderness area with a very unique area for Safari. The southern Kalahari, due to its location and local climatic conditions, receives somewhat more rain than the central Kalahari, allowing it to support a large diversity of life. It is for this reason that the southern Kalahari is frequently referred to as the “Green Kalahari” – this is the home of our "Chosen One", Tswalu Kalahari Reserve.
